About Me
Caroline Frizell (PhD, RDMP, UKCP, Dip. Supervision SAP)
Caroline is a UKCP registered ecofeminist Dance Movement Psychotherapist (DMP), ecopsychotherapist and supervisor, working indoors, outdoors and online. Caroline is also a Senior Lecturer and Researcher in DMP at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she teaches and supervises on the MA DMP and PhD programmes. In addition, Caroline is an established author (see publications). Caroline's research interests are underpinned by post humanism and new materialism and her research and practice interrogates the interfaces between creative moving bodies, environmental awareness and critical disability studies. Her perspective is articulated in her 2024 publication Posthuman Possibilities of Dance Movement Psychotherapy (see New Book Page).
Caroline has been instrumental in initiating local community projects, as well as developing and delivering training programmes in inclusive practice for parents, carers and professionals. Her career as dancer, teacher and ecofeminist therapist and author has spanned 4 decades. During that time, Caroline has worked extensively in special education and community settings, has offered individual Dance Movement Psychotherapy and Supervision and has lectured on Dance Movement Psychotherapy and Ecopsychotherapy within University settings at Masters level. She also continues to teach and present nationally and internationally (see events).
In her work, Caroline addresses the relationship between mental well-being, the nature of community and the health of the planet.
